The 7th Annual Conference of the Cyprus Statistical Society took place on Friday, June 19th, 2026, at the premises of Frederick University in Nicosia. In total, more than 60 researchers from academia, private research companies, the Cyprus Statistical Service, as well as large corporate organizations attended the event. During this one-day event, 24 scientific presentations were delivered by researchers whose interests are related to Statistics. Participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas, present their work, get to know their colleagues’ work, and look for new ways of collaboration. This year, the Plenary Speaker was Prof. Konstantinos Fokianos, who is a Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of Cyprus.

For the second time, the conference had an award for the best postgraduate or doctoral thesis presented by a student. The award, with a total value of €400, was sponsored by Grant Thornton Cyprus and served as recognition of excellence, innovation, and scientific contribution of young scientists in the field of statistics.
