On 11th of January 2022, the First Assignment of the National Phase of the European Statistics Competition took place. Two hundred twenty five (225) students of lower and upper secondary education from all over Cyprus formed seventy seven teams (77) and participated in the competition.
The co-organizers (Statistical Service of Cyprus, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth, University of Cyprus and Cyprus Statistical Society) would like to congratulate all the teams for their participation and effort.
The First Assignment included three tests as follows:
- Basic statistical knowledge test
- Use of official statistical data sources test
- Interpretation of statistical reports test
The ten teams with the highest score in the lower secondary education category and the ten top teams in the upper secondary education category, qualify to the Second Assignment, in which they have to prepare a statistical report based on the analysis of a given dataset.
The teams in each category that proceed to the Second Assignment are presented below in alphabetical order. The mark distribution of the First Assignment is also provided.
